David A. Po-Chedley

Dave Po-Chedley has been actively involved in project management for over 25 years. During this time, he has worked on and managed projects, and helped others to manage projects effectively through consulting and training. He is President of Cambridge Consulting, a firm dedicated to enhancing project effectiveness for clients around the world (and a PMI Registered Education Provider).

Thousands of people from organizations in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America have benefited from workshops and consulting services provided by Mr. Po-Chedley. They include General Dynamics, Janssen Pharmaceutical, Fleet Boston Financial, Boeing, MedImmune, General Motors, US Airways, Alcon Labs, IBM, Motorola, Immunex/Amgen, OppenheimerFunds Funds, AT&T, Morgan Stanley and General Electric.

Dave has taught at the graduate level and has written several books that have been used to support client workshops and consulting services. Topics include project management, e projects, coaching, customer service, managing problems/ decisions, quality improvement and leadership. His most recent book is Client Relationship Management (published by HRD Press, 2001). He is certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Mr. Po-Chedley serves on the Board of Directors for Pioneer Aerospace, a supplier of deceleration equipment to the U.S. military, NASA and foreign governments. He is also an active member of ASTD (American Society of Training and Development), currently serving as a board member in the Ocean State Chapter. Dave is an active member in PMI (Project Management Institute), and serves as an adjunct faculty member for the PMI Seminars World program.

Jim Pfeffer

Jim Pfeffer 's experience includes over 25 years in project management along with executive and organization development. He has had over 20 years in project management and related training along with change management consulting among transportation (air), government, public and private industries.

Organizations Jim has worked with include Applied Materials, US Army and Air Force, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Hewlett Packard, Chevron, International Harvester/CASE Equipment, Conoco Chemicals, Hughes Tool Company, General Dynamics, McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, ARAMCO, Perrier, EMCORE (semiconductors), Trinity College of Graduate Studies and Telephonics Corporation (a direct supplier to Caltrans).

Over the years, Jim has taught project management, problem solving, decision-making, team development, process improvement and meeting management. He has also consulted in each of these areas.

He has worked with many international companies and has instituted productivity and quality programs, and developed internal and external consulting organizations. Mr. Pfeffer has developed process management systems and directed major core business process transformations (in 40-50 billion dollar companies).

Now based in southern California, Jim has done Ph.D. work in Organization Development and Clinical Psychology; he holds a Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration/Counseling and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering.

Helping organizations see the hidden systems context within which they operate, and how to leverage them, is his specialty. Knowledge management, workflow and human interfaces are the key targets in his analyses. The most dramatic transformations have occurred where the executives are counseled while they transition into the difficult behaviors required by new business performance demands.

Thomas R. Evans

Mr. Evans has over fifteen years of experience specializing in the development and delivery of workshops in project management, customer service and interpersonal and communications skills. He has delivered project management and related training to a wide variety of target populations including technical, consulting, financial and professional services. He also works extensively with all types of work teams, from project and cross-functional to self-directed/self-managed and consulting teams. Tom is experienced in team assessment, coaching and consulting interventions, training development and delivery (including experiential), and leader/facilitator training and coaching.

Mr. Evans' work with self-directed project teams involves organization and team readiness assessment, assistance in the planning and implementation of the teams including development and delivery of training for management, team leaders, facilitators and members.

Prior to joining Cambridge Consulting as a Senior Associate, Mr. Evans was an internal organizational development consultant for The Travelers Companies in Hartford, Connecticut. Concentrating his work in the information systems department, he worked extensively in team development and training for all types of teams, from project teams to self-directed work teams. He also provided facilitation support through the executive level for various project, divisional and departmental planning and problem resolution sessions.

Mr. Evans also co-managed the quality circle program at The Travelers in the information systems department, developing and delivering management, leader, facilitator and member training for over 60 voluntary improvement teams.

Mr. Evans has a technical background and prior to his organizational development work, he designed and delivered technical training for mainframe software products. He also managed a team that provided software support for host interactive products. Prior to that, he worked as a systems software programmer.

Mr. Evans has a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the State University of New York at Brockport. He is MBTI and Zenger-Miller certified. He is a member of the American Society for Training and Development and the Western New England Organizational Development Network. Mr. Evans is also an adjunct faculty member of the Boston University Metropolitan College Corporate Education Center and Rensselaer at Hartford.

Fred Kleiman

Fred Kleiman has been an Associate with Cambridge Consulting for over ten years. During that time, he has supported many engagements with Clients in a variety of industry sectors.

Since completing his graduate work in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at New York University, Fred has amassed over 25 years of experience as an Organization and Management Development consultant. During that time, he's developed a solid record of success in improving quality, increasing productivity and enhancing organizational effectiveness. His wide range of industry experience includes state and local government, utilities, consumer products, financial services, engineering, construction, technical and transportation.

Fred has worked organizations on improving customer service, critical thinking skills, communications, teamwork, project management skills, management and supervisory skills, performance and productivity and personnel selection. His consulting relationships are characterized by the establishment of collaborative partnerships with clients, the development of practical solutions tailored to each client's need and a focus on outcomes that enhance performance and effectiveness. Kathleen Chartier

Kathleen founded Commtec Communications Group in 1982 after leaving a senior sales position with Xerox Learning Systems.

Since that time, Kathleen has focused her energies in the areas of performance improvement, quality assurance projects and in developing customized training programs in quality, media skills, presentation skills, problem solving, management development, interviewing skills, selling skills and innovation training.  Kathleen is a gifted consultant, one that clients repeatedly seek out when looking for new approaches to solve performance problems or when experiencing problems with new or existing training.  She has trained thousands of individuals at all levels of business.  Kathleen’s Quality Assurance projects include the development of standards of practice, peer assessment processes and the development of continuous learning curriculum.

In addition, Kathleen has frequently coached executive and senior managers in presentation skills, media skills and behavior based hiring and selection skills.  Kathleen works as often with senior executives on a one-on-one basis as she does with groups of professionals.

A large portion of Kathleen’s day-to-day work focuses on the analysis of performance problems and the development of practical solutions to close these performance gaps.  Many times, the solutions recommended do not involve conventional “training solutions”.

Selected Assignments

Design and facilitate media training for executives and senior management in numerous multinational corporations.

Designed and facilitated a senior executive strategic planning meeting for a major consulting firm in the U.S.

Designed a training program to equip consultants with skills to adapt their sales and management styles to cultural differences when working in different locations around the world.  

Analyzed and co-designed (with Hanna Mayer, PH.D.) a comprehensive curriculum for senior investment consultants within a large Canadian Bank.

Designed and developed an Interviewing and Selection training workshop, as well as a series of communication skills programs for professionals within the Hi-tech industry.

Co-designed (with Hanna Mayer, PH.D.) a peer assessment process including the training modules for peer assessors for a medical profession.  This program is part of a comprehensive Quality Assurance program for the profession.

Designed and conducted a First Level Manager Competency Analysis in the Aerospace Industry and followed up with a curriculum design for First Level Managers.

Olle Bovin

Pamela C. Schmidt-Cavaliero

Pamela’s background as a line manager and quality leader in the services industry gives her special insights into the challenges facing organizations in today’s economy.  She is also an accomplished and enthusiastic instructor and trainer with expertise in a wide range of issues and skills.

Pamela spent the majority of her career in the highly customer services industry of real estate and relocation services, with such companies as Equitable, Travelers, and PHH Homequity, now known as Cendant Mobility.  Her responsibilities included acquisition, resale, policy development and human resource management.  She led projects to improve skills and processes in senior management, customer service, information systems and billing.

Pamela entered the consulting field to apply her diverse background to helping organizations meet increasing demands for world-class processes, service delivery and quality.

Her training and consulting experience includes managing, developing and presenting several organization-wide quality improvement initiatives, as well as programs in leadership, customer service, team development, change management and sales skills.

Allen R. Saville

Elisabeth Swan

Ms. Swan has designed, developed and delivered sessions ranging from leadership and consulting skills to process improvement and client relationship management for many Fortune 500 companies.  In the past year, Ms. Swan designed and delivered a process improvement simulation and a training program as part of the first worldwide rollout of a Starwood Resort’s Six Sigma initiative; the first in the hospitality industry.

Ms. Swan has worked on design and execution of strategic design sessions for top management at both Raytheon and Fireman’s McGee Marine Insurance.  Ms. Swan’s outgoing style has proven effective with audiences ranging from senior executives to engineers to front-line and operations personnel.  She has adapted many training programs to fit all levels and types of audiences.

Wes Balakian

Mr. Balakian PMP, CEA is an IT Software Development Program Manager.  His broad knowledge of high-tech disciplines has fostered a fifteen-year career in project and program management, focused on telecommunications and systems integration.  Successful implementation of B2B and B2C projects integrating mainframe and client server technologies, for Fortune 500 companies are among some of his accomplishments.

Wes has managed significant projects in information systems and related areas.  He has also taught project management courses to audiences around the world.  He is currently a featured speaker at PMI Seminars World and at Project World.

Mr. Balakian maintains a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, and is a Certified E-Commerce Architect (CEA) which included comprehensive study of JAVA, IBM’s E-Commerce suite (WebSphere), E-ERP, security and SAP E-Commerce implementation.  Additionally, he is a tenured Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).  Mr. Balakian is conversant in SEI CMM level two compliance practices.  Mr. Balakian also serves as the Vice-Chairman of professional development for PMI’s E-Business SIG.

Dina L. Horn

Dina Horn is a multi-talented instructional designer who has spent over ten years working with instructional design and learning technologies.  She has been involved with learning technologies as they emerged from laser disc to most recently the handheld platform.  She sat on a panel that discussed web-based training at the July 1999 International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) Conference on Performance Measurement in Web-Based Training held in Chicago, Illinois.  Earlier in 1999 she co-delivered a presentation at another IQPC conference, Communicating the Value of a Corporate University, held in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Dina also co-presented in 1991 at the Society for Applied Learning Technology (SALT) Conference in Orlando, Florida.  Presented on the topic of The VideoDisconnect - A Systematic Approach to Interactive Courseware.

Dina currently consults with clients such as Maritz Performance Improvement Company in the areas of e-Learning and Instructional Design.  She delivers an Introduction to Instructional Systems Design course for the University of Rhode Island’s Training & Development Certificate Program.  Additionally, she was able to advance her skills in the latest learning technologies while at a start-up company in 2000 that provided software and services for interactive content on the handheld platform (e.g. Palm).  While at the start-up, she became the resident expert in developing content using the authoring tool and created all the user documentation associated with both the product suite and beta process.  Prior to this, she served as a Senior Instructional Design Consultant with CBSI, Inc. and was able to work with high-tech companies such as GTECH in assisting them with their instructional design efforts.  Dina also worked at EMC Corporation as a Senior Instructional Designer broadening her experience among high-tech industry and learning technologies.  At EMC she helped to launch an online university and develop web-based training modules.

Before working at EMC, Dina was a training specialist for the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC) Information Technology (IT) department where she assisted with a variety of training needs for both IT and HPHC staff.

Lastly, Dina got her start at Analysis & Technology where she was an Instructional Designer for over 4 years working on projects ranging from interactive videodisc for the US Navy to computer-based training modules for a large telecommunications firm using tools such as Multimedia Toolbook.

She possesses strong technical skill sets which includes exceptional skills in MS Office, MS Project, MS FrontPage, MS HTML Help, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Claris File Maker Pro and other web-related utilities and technologies.  Moreover she has exposure to various industry standard authoring tools including: Authorware, IconAuthor, ToolBook and Flash.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications from Ithaca College and has taken graduate courses in Educational Computing and Technology Leadership at Johnson & Wales University.

Carla Queen

As a senior Cambridge Consulting Associate, Carla Queen brings more than 20 years of experience in helping organizations become more effective and profitable.  Presently, Carla is a consultant to major organizations where she uses her experience in all aspects of employee development, instructional design, project management and problem solving.  She has extensive experience in employee skill assessment, curriculum design, group facilitation, change management and organization development.  She has facilitated workshops in project management customer service, six sigma, problem solving/decision making and coaching.

Carla was a key member of a Cambridge Consulting team that developed and delivered Client Service Training at Morgan Stanley.  In addition, she facilitated the off-the-shelf Cambridge Customer Service Excellence workshop for the Creative Services Group.  Carla has also been involved in the development of our Client Relationship Management workshop.

Since the mid-1980's, Carla’s attention has been on organizations “in change".  She developed a curriculum for AMF Bowling to introduce an innovative computerized product line to its electronic-averse work force.  She also conducted team-building workshops during a corporate takeover and downsizing.  At Symbol Technologies she assessed and addressed the needs of a sales force during rapid product expansion, the quadrupling of the work force and multiple re-organizations.  She researched and developed a series of three sales courses and two sales management courses.

Carla conducted problem solving training programs for numerous organizations, many of whom were experiencing product flaws and technical difficulties.  She has worked with four different divisions of Kodak, helping teams solve both product and process problems.  She also set up organizational systems for IMS America, integrating analytical and creative problem solving processes with their continuous process improvement.

Since the late 198O's, Carla has conducted Process Improvement seminars to divisions of Mobil Chemical, PHH, Josten’s, Oxford Health Plans and IMS America; all of whom are (were) involved in major re-engineering efforts.  She has worked with the Senior Management of Mellon Bank to develop their Total Quality program and improve processes in five business units.

Since 1995, Carla has been working with various business units within General Electric; helping them in their quest for Six Sigma Quality.  She has developed courses, trained participants and led train-the-trainer sessions.

With most of her clients, Carla conducts primary research to assess present skill level and achievement with the targeted population.  She then develops comprehensive courses and curricula based on the needs of the organization and the individuals.  Keeping within budget and the norms of the organization, her primary focus is on interactivity, creativity, critical thinking and application of information to the actual work environment.

Jim Dykes

Jim has worked for over 10 years as a professional facilitator, working with all levels of employees.  As such, he understands a variety of business environments and the challenges faced by employees in those environments. 

 

Jim has conducted numerous workshops for clients in virtually every industry. Topics include project management, problems solving, decision making, process improvement and communication. Daniel A. Koger, Ph.D.

Dan Koger has worked in the training, development and consulting field for nearly 20 years, specializing in project management, team building, customer satisfaction and organizational communication strategy and planning.  Recent clients include Morgan Stanley, Pacific Bell, Johnson & Johnson, DirectoryNet, a U.S. branch of the Australian national telephone system, Software AG Americas, Stroh Brewing Company and Mercantile Stores.

Dan completed pioneering work in organizational communications during the 1980s while with the General Motors Public Relations staff and as Director of Communications for Weyerhaeuser Company, the forest products giant.

He has a doctorate degree in American Studies from Michigan State University, with a focus on communication issues and practices.  He also has a masters degree in American History from Michigan State University and a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.  He has taught graduate and undergraduate journalism and communication courses at the Michigan State University College of Communication, the University of Michigan and the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

Dan has published articles on communication, total quality and project management in a variety of professional journals, including Communications World, the Journal of Organizational Communication Management and Nation’s Business.

Robyn Lurie

Robyn is master certified in the Cambridge Project Management workshop.  She has trained thousands of people during the course of her extensive career in the training and development field.  She is also certified in our Customer Service workshop, and has additional certifications in trainer development, negotiating and sales training.

Rosalie Pryor Escamilla

Rosalie Pryor Escamilla is a highly regarded organization improvement and development consultant with over 20 years experience.  Her abilities include management and organization development consulting, curriculum planning and instructional design, workshop facilitation and project management.

Rosalie has served as program developer for several Cambridge Consulting products, including Project Management and Customer Service Excellence, in addition to numerous proprietary products for our customer base.  She has held key roles on projects in a wide range of subject areas, often serving as a content consultant, facilitator and product developer.  In addition, she has conducted environmental systems analyses for a variety of organizations.  Thus, she provides the ability to apply systems thinking to the topics covered in this project.

Rosalie’s international experience includes consulting and training in the United States, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Brazil and Puerto Rico.  She is fluent in Spanish.

E. Robert St. Germain

Rob St. Germain is a hands-on consultant, trainer and project management specialist who brings practical experience-born wisdom to the concept and application of leadership in projects and product development.  He is a certified Project Management Institute (PMI) instructor and teaches their Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) foundations course.  He is a lively and entertaining speaker who mixes humor and straight talk to drive home concepts and apply them to real world situations.

He works with clients to increase overall organizational effectiveness by focusing on work processes, collaboration, communication and leadership in planning and executing projects.  He has been in private practice for 15 years working with over 50 clients including companies in high technology, medical products, automotive, financial services, transportation, distribution, consumer goods, food service, and general manufacturing in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.  He has also worked with numerous non-profit and governmental organizations, federal, state and local.  He is a frequent speaker and has been an adjunct professor in the graduate school at Babson College.

Rob is an innovative problem solver and skilled facilitator, and has served widely as a coach and mentor to numerous clients – executives, managers and teams.  His warm and friendly nature engenders trust, and his depth of experience gives him a broad skill set and an understanding of many situations from which he can provide examples to make concepts come alive.

He is a former executive and manager with 25 years in various manufacturing and service organizations.  He has hands on experience in general management, project management, strategic planning, product development, finance and information technology.  Prior to beginning his consulting practice, he was Director of Corporate Planning at Motorola-Codex and was a member of the team that won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.  He has served on several boards.

Rob also spent 8 years as an Engineering Officer in the Army Corps Of Engineers (Reserve) leading numerous engineering projects.

Education and Certification

Rob received an M.B.A. with a concentration in Information Management (cum laude) and a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Babson College and is a Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP).  He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.  Continued education includes numerous seminars and workshops in project management, organizational development, process redesign, change technique including large group change process, leadership and team development.

Herb Gabora

Mr. Gabora has been involved with organization and project effectiveness for over 20 years.  He is the author of the business satire, No-Bull Management, which is the basis for the one-day workshop by the same name.

Herb is a registered Organization Development Consultant and has been involved in major organization change projects over the last twenty-five years.  He has consulted with a range of companies on issues of organization and team effectiveness including, Spar Aerospace, Bayer Inc., Milgo Solutions, and the Economic Development Corp.  Herb has had previous executive experience with major project oriented firms including Mitel Corporation, Nortel Networks and Bell-Northern Research.

Herb has taught at several universities and has made conference presentations in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Ireland.  At the Project Management Institute conference in San Antonio, Herb presented a paper entitled:  No Bull Project Management: Dealing with the Politics and People Issues That Bring Projects Down.  He has published numerous articles on management and organization issues.
