Developed by the Project Management Institute® (PMI), the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is recognized as an international standard for project success. PMI offers a certification process where experienced project managers (i.e., those with 4,500 hours of project experience over 3-5 years) can sit for an exam that will enable them to become certified Project Management Professionals (PMP®). The PMP designation is recognized around the world as a symbol of proficiency in project management. PMI also offers a CAPM™ (Certified Associate of Project Management) for professionals just getting started in the field.

 
Workshop Goals:  At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will have:
  1. An overall understanding of the PMBOK
  2. Reviewed the nine knowledge areas of the PMBOK
  3. Discussed and reviewed how the PMBOK is currently applied at their organization
  4. Identified areas requiring further study in preparation for the PMI certification exam
Duration:  One Day (Eight Hours)
Target Population:  Project managers and other project professionals interested in sitting for either of the PMI certification exams (PMP or CAPM).
Workshop Agenda: 
  • Review of overall PMI certification process
  • Review PMBOK document and nine knowledge areas
  • Discuss current application of PMBOK within your organization
  • Practice test questions
  • Develop individual preparation plans for PMI certification
